Caption and Evaluation preactice

1. Tim Castro attempts to throw a Molotov cocktail at New York policemen. He said that he was a little on edge due to medication, and getting fed up with wall street.

This photo uses depth. I know it uses depth because it shows foreground, background, and mid-ground.
This photo uses the rule of thirds because if you were to put imaginary lines on this  photo the mans face would be on a point of interest.
This photo shows repetition through the constant repeating of the candles being lit and thrown in the air.

2. What would you do if someone approached you with a camera and asked you to participate in a photo shoot and then asked you to touch a stranger? I would do it because its a good way to get people together

3. Think of an unusual photo shoot similar to this one that you think would be fun to go and shoot.  Two randome strangers crying and hugging
4. Finally, tell me what you thought of the photography, did the photographer think about the rules of photography that you know about? What types of photos did he take?  they where clear and colorful and they got fraiming and simplicity, and so the pictures can come out good.

Individual Images

1. Describe one photo that you agree with the judges on. Explain why you and the judges do or do not like it.
I like the one where the fighter got punched in the face because the got it from a floor shoot and the ref looks really prepared for what ever happens next .

2. Describe one photo that you do NOT agree with the judges on. Explain why you think the judges are wrong.
I thought that the swimmer one waas good enough too because the water make a clear good background and its a nice and clean shot .
1. Watch any four of the Runner-up videos, and answer the following on your blog:
Name of photographer - Alyssa Schukar
General focus of portfolio -Eating disorder
List three problems that the judges note with the portfolio - The pictures are not showing and they are from a certain distance not feeling the love or the pain.
List two things the judges like- the picture where the guy is sweeping the street and the girl that jumped over the hurtles and fell down. Also the kids in the stariway and the baseball celebration picture.
What is your overall impression? What did you like or not like? it was okay .. it was really sad and gloomy though .

2. Watch the winning portfolio critique (Dustin Snipes), and post the following:
What did the judges note as strengths as they were critiquing it? the color and the composition the way the photo was taken from an angle and how everyone was doing something.

What do you see as strengths? The colors and the way he took it from differrent angles and all the color.
Do you see any weaknesses? Just the way he photoshoped the picture with the guy in the way made the picture seem a little bit off.

3. They can only have one winner and they eliminated the one that did not show their point across. they feel like they should be rewarding diversity and that he stuck to the theme of sports and he was a great editor also .
